Hey everyone! I feel like I’ve been away from my blog for ages, despite posting here and there. I’ve been busy preparing for my degree show, and now it’s finally up and I’ve finally finished university so I can devote more time to my blog, how exciting! What’s possibly more exciting, is that I was recently invited to the B. Beauty event in London, to take a look at their beauty line before they launch at the end of this month.

About B. Beauty

If you’ve not heard of B. before, they have been sold in Superdrug for a couple years now, and are marketed as an affordable, cruelty free brand. B. is exclusive to Superdrug, but they got discontinued sometime last year so they could improve their range and come back, bigger and better than ever. They’ve still been available in selected stores at discounted rates to try get rid of old stock, but honestly it’s not even worth buying when you see what new stuff they have to offer instead!

The event itself was really great, I got to meet with some fellow cruelty free bloggers who were all absolutely lovely! You can check them out here:

Tara – Cattitude and Co

Shenan – Its Me Shenan

Sarah – The V Nice Life

Steph – The Zombie Said

Nadia – Not So Quiet Grrl

They offered us a range of vegan donuts which were all delicious, and they offered other vegan snacks throughout the night, as well as fancy cocktails filled with fruit and flower petals, how cute! (and super tasty, I might add). They also had a live DJ which kept everything upbeat and casual.

The Relaunch

Now, onto the bit I know you’re all dying to read about, the make up! The whole line has been completely revamped, with lots of new products that look pretty innovative too. The whole line will be 100% vegan when it relaunches on May 31st, and it will all come with even better packaging, mostly with a sleek matte black casing which feels very elegant for drugstore makeup.

B. Beauty Makeup Event Priming Soufle

I’m especially excited to try out their priming souffle, which when I tested it, it felt really great for filling in fine lines and pores before makeup application, giving you a smooth and flawless base to work on. This will retail for £9.99 and came in a round tub, which is perfect as I always get to the bottom of my squeezy tubes and can never get that last bit of product out! I’m also really interested to see how their flawless matte  and flawless silk foundations perform, which are both described as being lightweight on the skin and both have SPF 15, making them perfect for the upcoming sunny days! The silk foundation is a light to medium buildable coverage, whilst the matte foundation is medium coverage, and they both retail for £9.99.

What really caught my eye was their loose pigments. As a lover of colour in my makeup, these looked perfect for adding a pop of colour to my eyes, with the range offering sparkly blues, greens, silver, and a coppery pink colour! These will be sold at £4.99 which is really affordable, and you can build up the intensity in different ways.

Cassie Lomas Collaboration

The brand have also teamed up with Cassie Lomas, Superdrug’s makeup ambassador. The range looks geared towards that whole tanned beach goddess look, which is perfect for the next few months as the weather gets hotter, and more people are going on holiday abroad. She talked me through the range and it sounds really great for achieving a natural, sunkissed look. The Sheer Liquid Illuminator is something I’m really excited about, which you can use with your foundation all over your face for a dewy look, or as a base for highlighter to make it more intense. This range also includes loose pigments, which can be applied over the liquid illuminator for a gorgeous, glowy highlight, or you can use it on your eyes for a beautiful pop of brightness.

My Bag of Treats

B. Beauty Makeup Event

Upon leaving, I was handed a little goodie bag filled with treats from the new line. After a few days of trying them out, I’m excited to give you my first impressions and let you know what I think, so I can give you a bit of a heads up before the launch on Wednesday!

B. Beauty Makeup Event Micellar Wipes

First up, I got a bag of their Micellar Cleansing Wipes. I don’t usually use makeup wipes to take off my makeup as they can feel very drying, and aren’t the best for your skin, but they’re perfect for nights when I can’t be bothered to take my makeup off and end up sleeping in it (which is way worse than using wipes!). I found they worked pretty well at removing my eye makeup with a bit of work, which is often the case for my favourite makeup removal methods!

B. Beauty Makeup Event Contour and Highlight Stick

Then inside the bag, I got a box of make up to try out. What I’m loving most is this highlight and contour stick, which I’ve found blends out beautifully (which I showed my followers on my instagram story over at @cfhayley!) I got it in the shade “universal”. I was a little worried about it to begin with, as the contour looked a little on the warm side, but I’ve found it actually works really well when I apply a little bit around my cheekbones and nose, and blend it out with my beauty sponge. The highlight also works as a great base for my Mary Lou-Manizer, to further intensify it. I love that it provides both in one easy to use stick too, as it makes it great for travelling.

B. Beauty Makeup Event Lipstick

B. Beauty Makeup Event Lipstick

As well as the above, I received two lip products, and a lip and cheek tint. Just like the highlight/contour stick. the lip and cheek tint is multi functional which makes it perfect for travelling with. I also prefer cream products in the summer to keep my makeup looking more dewy, so a cream blush is perfect! I feel this shade is slightly too dark for me, but it works well when I apply a tiny amount with my fingers and blend it again with my beauty sponge.

B. Beauty Makeup Event Cheek and Lip Tint

The lipstick I’ve tried out a few times, and I’m surprised at how much I like the colour! I don’t usually go for pink lipsticks, but this is a beautiful pink-based lipstick that feels so soft and moisturising on my lips.

B. Mens Skincare Range

As well as displaying the new makeup they have coming out, they also showed off their skincare line, which even involves mens skincare! Within the goodie bag I received at the end of the night, I got a post-shave balm which is now with my boyfriend. It sounded amazing for reducing pores and fighting spots after shaving, which is something my boyfriend has trouble with so I’ll report back on how he finds it! As well as this, they had beard oil, moisturiser and a charcoal face scrub which sounded interesting, I’ll definitely be gifting some to my boyfriend and my dad so they can give them a whirl, as they both need more skincare in their lives!!

The B. Makeup range will be launching on May 31st in selected Superdrug stores and online. Be sure to check it out for some affordable, vegan treats!
