It literally feels like last week that I was writing my February Slays and Nays and suddenly March has ended and we’re a few days into April already, how is time going so fast? and can someone slow it down so I have time to do my uni work please? Anyway, before I go into a downward spiral about how much stuff I have to do, let me share with you what I’ve been loving and hating this month.
Converse – £50, or £45 with student discount.
I’ve wanted a pair of black converse for a while now and I finally bought some! I love them so much as they go so well with more dressy outfits, to dress them down. I love wearing them with my pleated trousers as well as dresses shown in my last post here.
I also really liked tying the laces around the back then bringing them to the front again as the laces are super long. I noticed when I first did it, they would ride up my ankle so now I weave them through the eyelets instead!
UK Makeup Addicts is a group I joined on Facebook and it’s a great place to talk all things makeup with thousands of different people, and everyone is so supportive on their too. I’ve been part of other groups before and they had the tendency to be pretty bitchy, so it’s really refreshing to see a supportive community of people. Let me know in the comments if you join it, I’d love to know!
Batiste Dry Shampoo – £2.66 Currently on Offer!
Batiste Dry Shampoo has been my saviour this month, I’ve had such a hectic month that I don’t even have time to wash my hair half the time, and when I do, it’s lacking volume anyway so I add a spritz of this at the roots and it helps so much! This is the largest bottle I found as I was running out of my smaller bottles pretty quickly! I also bought their hairspray as you can see in the background which I haven’t tried yet but I’m excited about as I featured Superdrug’s Hairspray in last months nays and didn’t think there were other high street brands that sold cruelty free hairspray!
Illamasqua Skin Base – £32.00
I recently reviewed this which you can see over on my Illamsqua Skin Base Review here. I didn’t give it the best review, and since then it’s just got worse. It’s started making my skin looking more and more dry, especially under my eyes, one day I even had to take it off under my eyes and do it again as it was that bad. It’s the first time I’ve ever debated not finishing a foundation and just buying a new one. However, I feel like this would be perfect for oily skin, but for dry skin, it doesn’t work well for me.
NYX Pore Filler – £11.00
I also recently reviewed this within the past couple months, and at the time I didn’t mind it but I’m not sure what it is, but it doesn’t react well with my skin lately. Whenever I apply it, it goes super bitty and crumbly and just looks horrible on my skin and makes makeup application a nightmare. I feel like it might be my moisturiser it doesn’t react well with, but I’d rather switch my primer than my actual skincare, so I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing this anytime soon!
