Last week I took a quick trip to Oxford Street to visit The Photographers Gallery for their newest exhibition Feminist Avant-Garde of the 1970s. Whilst here I had a quick look round the shops including Debenhams, Topshop, Urban Outfitters and Lush. The best thing obviously being Debenhams as they now stock Kat Von D in store here!
Kat Von D – Metal Crush Eyeshadow in Doce (V)
Kat Von D recently came to the UK via Debenhams but is an online exclusive and can’t be found in any stores, other than the London Oxford Street store where you can try out all the products first hand and have the beautiful ladies working on the stall, do your makeup for you! As much as I love the idea of Kat Von D makeup coming to England, I couldn’t justify buying anything until I tried it in person so I did a lot of swatching whilst here. I must’ve tried every single lipstick and managed to love them all so much I couldn’t decide, so the only thing I ended up buying was an eyeshadow I’ve been after for a long time now which is in the shade Doce. This is beautiful coppery-orange colour with lots of sparkle and lots of pigment. I plan to visit again soon with more money to hand to buy some of the beautiful lipsticks!
Topshop – Floral Embroidery Boots
I have been wanting these boots for a long time now, and you would not believe the hassle I went through to get them, but they’re finally mine! I originally ordered them online in a size 36 and was so happy as it was the only size left other than 35 , turns out 36 is a size 3 not 4. I think when I saw size 35 I thought well it’s not gonna be a size 2! but it was, so they arrived and they were so beautiful but didn’t fit on my feet. After that I couldn’t find them anywhere until London, and now I’m super super happy I found them. The heel is perfect and not too high to make my feet hurt, but high enough to make me feel a little bit taller and smarter. They’re super duper cute and super duper comfy, and also available in other colours online including yellow which are beautiful. So go and buy yourself some and don’t order the wrong size like I did.
Topshop – Mustard Cap
I absolutely love the colour mustard, and if I find something in mustard I usually buy it. Then I found this cap, and I’ve been wanting a mustard coloured cap for a while so I thought this was pretty much fate. Caps are great all year round as they can protect you from the sun in summer, or hide a slightly bad hair day in autumn. This colour is also a great transitional shade as it such an autumnal colour but also bright enough for summer too!
