For my first beauty product review, I thought I’d start with one of my favourite products; the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser. The one pictured got sent to me as a free sample from ASOS however, I’ve tried it many times before and I’m in love with it!
Included in this package is the cleanser, a face cloth and a little guide on how to use it. I’ll start off by saying the cloth is amazing! It’s not like a regular flannel you would find in most home stores that has the same rough texture as a towel, this is a pure muslin cloth instead which is so much softer and feels a lot more forgiving on my skin. Sometimes I feel as though regular face cloths can be too harsh and not ideal for sensitive skin or acne as it can irritate the skin slightly. You can buy the cloths from Liz Earle’s website, they are sold for £4.50 for a pack of two which is a great value for money for the quality and brand.
Now to move on to the actual product, the Hot Cloth Cleanser. This includes great natural ingredients such as rosemary, chamomile, cocoa butter and eucalyptus essential oil. It has a really subtle fragrance, not too heavily scented. I find that this cleanser is so moisturising and gentle on my skin and even works well at removing all of my make up, even the tough waterproof stuff. It doesn’t leave my skin with that dried up feeling that most facial soaps do either, I much prefer this over other proper soap. This is more like a cleanser you would use with cotton wool, but instead you apply this to dry skin and take it off with warm water using the muslin cloth. Also, another great point about the cloth is that my black eye makeup doesn’t leave stains on it! As soon as it’s gone through the wash, it’s good as new again.
Overall, I’d give this product the highest rating possible. I see no flaws with it and it leaves my skin feeling so moisturised and soft. It may be a little pricey at £15.50 for a “100ml pump starter kit” (this includes a 100ml tube, a muslin cloth and small pouch for the products) but it is definitely worth the investment and it lasts absolutely months as you only need a tiny amount for it to cover your whole face. It’s great for anyone with sensitive skin, dry/combination skin as well as anyone prone to spots or redness! And even better, it’s cruelty free (there’s even a little bunny on the back to prove it. They are owned by Avon but no animal cruelty is included in the production of the Liz Earle products)
